Can't connect to solr index neither index new data

Good afternoon dear sirs/madams,

I'm writting because I have been some troubles with Blacklight project and can't add data to the example index or create a new index with data.

So, I was working with solr where I was able to insert a lof of different kind of data (pdf,xml,...). I was looking for a nice frontend and discovered the blacklight project which looks perfect (very nice work, congratulations).
I installed the blacklight with the default core/index with the 30 registers, liked explained in the link:

But I would like to import my data (pdfs,xmls,doc,...) but unfortunatly I can't.

I would like to ask if anyone can help me creating a new core/index and insert different data types?
