HANDS OFF CUBA! BOYCOTT THE WORLD CUP! JULY 1ST ACTION.

This Wednesday, July 1st at 8pm est the United States will be playing Bosnia during a round of 32 knockout game. The intensified blockade against Cuba has led to blackouts, deaths, and illness. In a few short months inflation has quadrupled because of these genocidal measures aimed at the revolutionary Cuban state. In addition to these targeted attacks, President Nicolàs Maduro and First Combatant Cilia Flores are still being held captive in New York, and military aggression in the Caribbean is still heightening. Amidst this global gangsterism, we continue our call to make our Americas a Zone of Peace, free from United States intervention, imperialism, and militarism. The same militarism that has bombed over 200 fisherpeople in Caribbean waters is domestically terrorizing oppressed communities through ICE, the National Guard and highly militarized police departments. It’s the same system that has funded and perpetuated genocide in West Asia with no regard for international law.

We reject this blatant lawlessness.

The United States blatantly defiles all notions of People(s)-Centered Human Rights and should not be hosting or playing in the beautiful game.

In solidarity with the No War On Cuba Campaign, Black Alliance For Peace members will be mobilizing on Wednesday, July 1st to agitate and disrupt the USA v Bosnia game, calling out the United States’ continued human rights violations in the form of murderous blockades, internal repression, militarism, and genocide. We are calling on all anti-imperialist forces, organizations and individuals, in support of Cuba and opposed to US aggression and the defilement of fútbol to join us  and take back the beautiful game! 

We unequivocally call for a boycott beyond the World Cup, a boycott of the US, Hands off Cuba, and to Make Our Americas a zone of peace.
