Warm Greetings to All,
Please mark your calendar and save the date: Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 5:30 - 8:00 am, Miami's 30th Year Annual Sunrise Ancestral Remembrance of the Middle Passage, at Historic Virginia Key Beach Museum Park (Miami's fondly remembered onetime "Colored Beach" in the segregation era). See attached e-flier.
Those in other locations are encouraged to look for similar remembrances in your area on the second weekend in June, when numerous cities around the nation, in the Caribbean, and the African Motherland join in solidarity to remember those millions of Ancestors who endured the Middle Passage, or so-called Transatlantic "slave trade": all those who perished, and all who survived and who gave life to future generations.
This is known to be a story of unspeakable horrors, suffering, and deaths, but also an empowering story of resistance, resilience, strength, and indomitability of the human spirit, yet to be fully told from the perspective of those who actually lived it and their descendants.
Please feel free to share with your lists.
Ancestors and Generations Yet Unborn join in giving thanks for your support.
Peace, Love, Guidance, Blessings all ways,
DGT
