Dear Abdul,
On behalf of
all of us at
the National
Museum of
African
American
History and
Culture
(NMAAHC), I
sincerely
thank you for
your ongoing
support. As
you may
already know,
due to the
federal
funding lapse
and government
shutdown, all
Smithsonian
museums,
including
NMAAHC, are
currently
closed. We
have prepared
for this
temporary
closure with
contingency
plans in place
across all
areas of the
Museum, from
events to
collections to
operations.
Although our
physical doors
are
temporarily
closed, we are
deeply
committed to
advancing our
mission
through the
digital
resources
available on
our website,
where you can
also find
updates on our
operating
status. Our Searchable Museum
is available
for visitors
to virtually
explore our
award-winning
exhibitions,
objects, and
thought-provoking
content. In
addition, our
expansive
digital
learning
resources will
continue to be
available
through our
signature North Star
platform.
These
resources are
the product of
generous
supporters
like you,
whose private
contributions
enable us to
reach beyond
the Museum's
walls to
impact
millions of
people around
the world.
During this
unique time,
we will
endeavor to
stay
connected. Our
operating
status will be
available on
our website,
and we will
continue to
reach out to
you via email.
Our team is
available at NMAAHC...@si.edu
to assist you
with any
questions
about your
Membership.
As we approach
our 10th
anniversary,
we are
steadfast in
our vital
mission of
connecting
stories,
scholarship,
art and
artifacts from
the past and
present to
illuminate the
contributions,
struggles, and
triumphs that
have helped
shape our
country.
Our donors,
members and
visitors are
the heartbeat
of NMAAHC, and
your continued
support
sustains us.
We are deeply
grateful to
you and look
forward to
welcoming you
back through
our doors
soon.
With gratitude
and hope, |
