Becca,

We miss you. Xiaodong Liu's (the man and the medical doctor who asked your email address last Spring) daughter Sukie Liu and wife Xiaotao Guo have been in Madison since last June. Will you be free to cover Kaite's kids table on 10/3? Thanks.

Craig, Daniel and Anne,

Once again, "touching" people by just simply replying their email seems to work well in encouraging people to show up at ESL Cafe.
Shihong Liu told me last night that he was the one I replied his CSSA email requesting to buy a MP3 music recording device. Wow, it is
that simple! And of cause he is really interested in learning about American football. As a visiting PhD student in comparison to those who is pursuing PhD degree with the university, he has more time to visit Blackhawk. He said that he will be back to listen to "The Story".

Another student, Shichuan Quan, had to leave at 6 pm to work on his laundry; he asked a lady in his apt building to help him with his laundry as he had to run to the bus stop at the Red Cross parking lot 15 minutes or so later for 4:05 pm pickup time.  In our phone conversation, I told him that I didn't have time to pick him up (I live in north Madison) but if he couldn't find a helper for his laundry in three minutes, I will swing by his apt to pick him up (even if I will be late for ESL Cafe). Please pray that he will be back again.

I am taking You Ren and his family and Q. T. Wang to Hay Ride this Saturday so I am not sure if they will be back to ESL Cafe this coming Sunday. You Ren's daughter, Huiyan Ren, had a fever last week. Xianjun Li and his family might attend Hay Ride too if they can catch a ride from Xiaoli Guo and Yangrong Cao (young couple w/o kid) for I don't know if Xiaoli and Yangrong have signed up or not and their transportation arrangement if they did sign up. Craig, are you going to the hay ride event?

What is your idea of topic this coming Sunday (with possibly less guests attending and need to leave 161b at 5:30 pm)? After 5:30 pm, we can either have a coffee social upstairs in the atrium or a tour of the building especially the gym as we invited guests to use it for various sports in our table by Daniel yesterday. A few guests asked me when and how they can use the gym. Maybe Daniel can lead us for a show and tell.  After Barb's teaching on 9/27, I suppose we can spend sometime review her teaching besides some topic on 10/4, but how about WEEK 2 class on 10/11? Who wants to teach what on 10/11? About a possible outing in Chicagoland on 10/18 when we don't have a room, Daniel has found some special price for Six Flags. Please email us the detail, Daniel. Thanks. Sorry that we didn't have time to go over it yesterday for I hate to miss all singing part of the service myself. Maybe we can worry about clean-up the room after service all together when no group will use the room after us. I have contacted International Club for giving us leftover snacks this year again, but there was none left yesterday. My neighbor's pears became pear almond tart and pie.

Scott Lai is taking some accounting course this semester, so he won't show up anymore unless we need him as a backup person. Eleanore Tullman is committed to help our guests at ICCH (International Conversation and Coffee Hour) every Friday from noon to 2 pm at Memorial Union. (She is one of my recruits who loves BH Church!) Craig is in the process of recruiting Andy (Andrea ?) who has experience teaching ESL at the university. Please pray for her interests in and availability for ESL Cafe.

Katie, I forgot to tell you that Kitty's mom Jun Li told me in an email, "Please let Katie know that my daughter is sorry to miss Katie's class since we will be out of town this weekend." We might have LOST Rachel and her mom Shen Tian since she told me a few weeks ago that she is busy with lab work and afternoon hour of ESL Cafe might be too late for them. I am not sure if they show up for International Club or not after we moved to pm since 8/30. Huiyan Ren had a fever last week. Please let me know what you plan to cover before end of Thursday so that I can incorporate it in the invitation email. Thanks. By the way, Chinese students are learning addition, subtraction and even multiplication with much higher degree of complication and advancement than American kids in general. Although they might not know words like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and their verbs and etc initially.

Blessings,
Shere-Ling
