I though you might be interested in our forth coming production of
Koanga by Frederick Delius. It is being performed by Pegasus Opera
Company, a leading multiracial touring opera company in the UK.
Pegasus as presenting Koanga as part of a nationwide celebration of
the bicentenary of the abolition of the slave trade in Great Britain.
Koanga tells the epic story of an African prince sold into slavery and
a world of wicked treachery. This is an old tale of intense love and
betrayal, which deals with the very modern issues of racial and
cultural conflict.
For Koanga, Pegasus Opera have collaborated with an acclaimed team of
artists including baritone Leonard Rowe, who made his debut with New
York City Opera, and soprano Alison Buchanan who is renowned for her
performance of Bess in Porgy and Bess for New York City Opera.
With best wishes,
