The details for the ride mention a cat 4 and cat 5 climb but the only info I can find on cat climbs say 4 is the lowest. Am I missing something?

Justin,
Here is a simple guide to categorizing climbs in cycling.
Hors Category (HC) – the hardest, climbs of 1500m and above (4,900 feet)
  • 1st Category – climbs of 1100-1500m (3,600-4,900 feet)
  • 2nd Category – climbs of 600-1100m (1,970-3,600 feet)
  • 3rd Category – climbs of 300-600m (985-1,970 feet)
  • 4th Category – the lowest category, climbs of 100-300m (328-985 feet)

There is no cat. 5 climbs used anymore.  Competitive cycling remove it about 4 years ago, but it is still used in running.

I hope that helps.

I used 2012 description based on MapMyRide climb descriptions. Now, I use ridewithgps for mapping which doesn't have Cat 5.

There are 7 Strava segments. The KOM and QOM for each segment will be honored with appropriate SWAG during the post-ride lunch, assuming everyone can get their rides uploaded to Strava immediately after finishing.

UPDATE: As of last night We have over 100 riders already registered. 57 of which are doing the 68 miler. Includes 30 riders from The Hills area. Still a bargain at only $35. Snares you 2 meals, snacks/drinks, T-shirt (if registered before 6/20), mobile mechanic (Harlans Bike & Tour of Sioux Falls). Limited to first 200 riders. Here's a short video clip of the 2012 ride, same route this year.

The quality of riders is improving each year. Now, in our 4th year, we expect to attract an even greater number of strong riders. Hoping some of them will be you!

Finally, no fee to enter the park and camping onsite at the Group Lodge is available. Lodge has showers, full kitchen, etc.
