Although >50 riders from The Hills have registered for the 4th Annual Wellmark Tour de Oahe (most are doing the 68 miler) there's still room for more riders. Make this a memorable moment in your cycling memory and maybe, just maybe you'll own one of the coveted KOMs or QOMs. We have 6 Strava segments increasing in challenge as the ride goes on. All of the Strava segments are climbs, that'll test even the most ardent Black Hills Mountain Goat. So, what are you waiting for, register today at: TourdeOahe.com. Oh, if you happen to be KOM or QOM for the day expect to claim some super cool Schwag.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.  (June 19, 2014) – Space is still available for bicyclists interested in participating in the fourth annual Wellmark Tour de Oahe on Saturday, June 28, in Pierre.

Registration is $35 if received by June 20. Registration increases on June 21 to $50. Registration includes pre-ride dinner onFriday, June 27, snacks and post-ride lunch. Riders who register by June 20, receive a 2014 Wellmark Tour de Oahe commemorative t-shirt.

The 2014 Wellmark Tour de Oahe offers three separate routes for cyclists to choose from.

The routes include:

·         The 22-mile Dam Loop features unique lake, river and Missouri breaks scenery anchored in a historical setting described along the way by convenient pull-outs and dioramas.

·         Bluffs Out and Back, a 35-mile route designed to challenge those wanting a little bit more effort, climbs the bluffs above Lake Oahe and follows a historic Native American trail across the tableland. The ride includes one Category 5 climb and Strava segments.

·         The most challenging ride, the 68-mile To the End of the Pavement and Back (on Highway 1806), follows the same route as the 35-mile ride and beyond through a prairie panorama of historical, cultural and scenic vistas made famous by the movieDances with Wolves. This includes one Category 5 and two Category 4 climbs, including Strava segments.

“Whichever route you select, you’ll experience low traffic, smooth shoulders and beautiful scenery of the Missouri River, South Dakota prairie and Lake Oahe,” says Randy Brich, local volunteer coordinator for Wellmark Tour de Oahe.

The registration form and more details are available at www.wellmarktourdeoahe.com.
