Commemorate the March on Washington by Demanding Freedom for all Political Prisoners!

As we commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington and consider that many of the problems of 50 years ago are still prevalent, we must also remember that the civil rights era movements were viciously attacked by the FBI. One of their most nefarious acts was an attempt to blackmail MLK into committing suicide. Many were targeted, killed, and imprisoned. Many remain in prison today. They are Political Prisoners, they are Human Rights Defenders, and they deserve to be free!
Russell Maroon Shoatz is a political prisoner who has been held unjustly for over thirty years, including two decades in solitary confinement. He was active as a leader in the Black Liberation Movement in Philadelphia, both above and underground. His successful escapes from maximum-security prisons earned him the title “Maroon.” This is the first published collection of his accumulated written works, and also includes new essays written expressly for this volume.
