The cursor was on the actual simulator. I can click on the cockpit and navigate the menu which appear at the top (ATC, Weather, Views etc.) using the cursor only. I can also access the setting menu using ESC button on the keyboard, but the simulator does not register any commands from any connected peripherals. I have check the active window is the the flight simulator.
When the issue occurs and you hit ESC is the simulator unable to actually read inputs if you view these in the Control menu?
(For example if you check your joystick axes, do they register in the Control menu or is that not functional also?)
I am getting same, In approx 20 min into flight keyboard and HOTAS controls stops working. Only ESC and menus react. Nothing else. I checked pedals and HOTAS in controls sensitivity and all axes worked fine there. Just plane controls was completly locked. Only clickable cockpit with mouse worked.
I had it happen today in the pmdg 737 as soon as i started descent i had no mouse keyboard or flight controls anymore, sim was still running but i had no way to control aircraft i had to close the sim
Just had this happen to me in the 787. Loss of control of mouse moving the camera, and no inputs from my stick and throttle. I could still move the mouse and trigger the toolbar. I could also still manipulate anything on the the plane such as heading, CDU, that was in view.
Controlling an airplane with Flight Simulator Controls makes flying easier, more realistic, and more fun than a standard game controller or a keyboard and mouse combination. At FlightsimWebshop we have an extensive range of Flight Controls compatible with all Flight Simulators. From budget-friendly options to high-end devices used for flight training.
A joystick is the most common way to fly an aircraft. Whether you're looking at a fighter plane, a general aviation aircraft, or an airliner, you can find joysticks in all types of airplanes.
One of the big advantages of a flight simulator joystick is that (almost) all come with many programmable buttons, stick twist for rudder control, and a slider or separate throttle for power control.
A flight yoke - often referred to as 'control column' or 'steering wheel' - is usually found in general aviation aircraft (from brands such as Cessna and Piper) or most airliners.
If you prefer to fly an aircraft controlled by a yoke in Flight Simulator, you should choose a flight yoke when purchasing controls. In that case, your flight simulator experience will become more realistic.
Experience an authentic flying experience with rudder pedals.
Rudder pedals are - as the name indicates - used for control of your rudder and also for nosewheel steering on the ground. With rudder control, you can ace that crosswind landing and taxi to and from the gate.
Throttles with one axis are suitable for just power control. When a throttle has multiple axes, you can fly multi-engine or configure it for propellor and mixture settings. Some throttle quadrants also have levers for controlling flaps or speedbrakes.
No worries! We've got you covered with a dedicated page for beginning pilots. On this page, we guide you through the different models and options and explain everything about joysticks, yokes, rudder pedals, and throttles.
I believe there's a checkbox under the control settings menu to reverse the axis. It's been awhile since I've messed with FSX so I can't give you a step by step walkthrough, but it should be under options, then controls, axes, and you may have to turn on an advanced option. Just look for a box that says "invert Y axis" and uncheck it.
I have no idea what i did to the controls on my joystick but everything is inverted .If I pull back on my joystick it will make me turn left and If turn my joystick left I go up .Please help if you have a solution

Hello, I just bought some PICO 3 VR glasses and I can't interact with the controls, I connect fine, and I can touch the airplane levers with the controls (it looks green) but nothing appears on the controls. At first in the configuration menu I get the me...
I have flown several of the planes in X-Plane 11, and the program is no where near to actually flying these planes. The controls are way too sensitive.... it is almost impossible to keep these planes on track on a runway approach.Any thoughts for cha...
Hello:I am hoping that someone can help me with an ILS approach. I'll list what I am doing and perhaps someone would be kind enough to give my a hand.1) I tune NAV1 frequency to ILS runway. Make sure it is selected on the radio stack and I make s...
HeyI just bought this game and i dont have a joystick and dont want to use my keyboard so desided to use an xbox pad i have noticed there is alot of controls in the game. what is the main controls u need in the game and what button do you asign them t...
Hello,What you're experiencing is not uncommon, and several factors could be contributing to this issue.Controller Profile Compatibility: (The pre-configured mapping of the control inputs in MSFS2020 to the hardware devices) MS FS2020 may not alwa...

Hi guys, have just got around to messing with the drone with my Xbox controller, controller works fine, but I have no controls, stick doesn't do a damned thing, no up down or sideways, in other words, it ain't workin. Can't find a reason, anyone help with this please - thanks
I maybe incorrect but I thought it was a case of hitting Active Pause, then Drone camera to take a shot whilst in flight, then back to normal camera and unpause...drone camera is used a lot to explore whilst on the ground...if you are flying and you put the plane on Auto pilot you can go to external camera to look around the aircraft...but like I said I may be wrong...
Hi Wayne, thanks mate. I haven't been able to sort it out, I thought you had to have an aircraft flying for it to work. I basically want to use it for exploring city's and countryside, not the aircraft flying around. Might have to check Youtube for a tutorial.
yeah the drone is superb for exploring the airports and cities, just load a plane at a park spot and then switch to drone, very simple controls.. I read in another post you watched a video by Squirrel so hopefully you are now all sorted...
Hi Wayne, yep got it together now. Pretty confused at first, even Squirrel didn't completely get the message across, (it's an age thing) but found another one Flight Sim Deck, he explained it very clearly, so now I just need a bit of practice.
2. Now whenever you "Toggle Plane Controls" you can steer the aircraft while in drone mode, but you cannot move the drone camera then. For positioning the drone camera you have to "Toggle Plane Controls" again. The "Toggle Plane Controls" command works also when in flying mode inside the cockpit.
I only use drone cam on the ground, to check out new scenery but thanks for posting these instructions they will be useful...if I am using TrackIR then I tend to stay in the cockpit and pause TrackIR if I want to view outside or maybe take a screenshot...
To use this flight simulator, you need a WebGL 2.0 compatible web browser. You can test this here =2 If you browser is not WebGL 2.0 compatible, please try to update it.
If you want to play using a joystick, you will need a GamePad API compliant browser (test it here) (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc.).
You can start flying anonymously, without a user account, in GeoFS.
When authenticated using the Facebook and Google login buttons, you will be assigned a GeoFS account. That will allow you to set a call-sign and chat on the multiplayer server.
You can visit your account page by clicking on your call-sign (top-right corner) once authenticated.

Helicopters are by definition much more difficult to fly than airplanes. The basic principle is to play with collective pitch (going up and down), cyclic pitch (going forward, backward, right and left) and anti-torque control (rotation/yaw).
By default, mouse and keyboard controls are mixing roll and yaw (aileron and rudder). This has to be disabled (in configuration panel) in order to properly fly the helicopter.
Ideally, you would have to use a joystick to be accurate enough with the helicopter but the mouse should be enough for a start.
In GeoFS, the collective pitch is controlled using the same input as the throttle for airplanes: if you press '+' several times, the helicopter will lift-off, if you press '-' it will go down.
Cyclic pitch can be controlled using the arrow keys or the mouse.
When roll/yaw mixing is disabled, use the rudder keys (default are keys < & >) for the anti-torque (yaw).
The rest is just practice and finesse.
