You'll need a key code to get it to work. Depending on the version, but it should have it. Activate the keycode and use the cart, youll have to activate it each time, I think. If you have any more questions, I'll be happy to answer them. (And I couldnt help but think this belongs in the N64 Zelda board).

No, no, what I mean is, when I try to turn on my N64 with the GameShark and either games in it, nothing happens at all. The game doesn't turn on. ( And I wasn't quite sure if I should put it here or there; I opted for here because my question isn't really about the games themselves. )

Cuz Gameshark sux!! my just like glicthed itself to deat after awhile. soon i wasn't even able to select games past W cuz it kept freezing up on me.
I had that prob too, i could never really fixed it, it just worked whenever it wanted to. my suggestion is to can the shark and not use cheat codes at all. course, thats my suggestion

Ok. Like I said. Zelda requires a keycode. So, here is what you do. Insert another working game into the shark and the system. Turn it on. Enable the keycode (I dont know exactly where, I have 3.2). Turn the system off. Switch cartridges. Voila, instant cheats.

See, for some reason, the shark wont work with certain games unless these codes are activated first, this includes Zelda, and numerous other titles. You will have to re-activate it each time you use it I believe. (I only used G-shark sporadically on Zelda because i beat it completely and never saw any reason for it).
And the whole board thing really doesnt matter, as long as its close.

I have a similar problem, but mine has nothing to do with the keycodes. When I turn it on, everything works fine, and I can out my codes in. But when I select "Start game with selected codes" My screen just goes blue as if the system stopped working. I do the same thing for Ocarina of time and it works completely fine. Any ideas out there? My gameshark is v 3.0 and I have the collector's edition cartridge of Majora's Mask.

Below is a list of our Pokemon Fire Red cheats from our collection; just like our Pokemon Emerald cheats collection, many of our readers have already tested and verified that these FireRed cheat codes work.

Note: These Gameshark codes apply to Pokemon Fire Red(US) versions with version 1.0. Every Pokemon game series has its own cheat codes, so the cheat codes may not work for LeafGreen or Emerald.

Instructions: Add the master code first as a separate cheat. Using the example cheat code above, you can encounter a level 10 male Charizard with max IV and a modest nature. Feel free to modify and experiment with the cheat.

Please Note: This cheat will work only for FireRed rom version 1.1. Sometimes, the cheat will work only for the first time. To fix the issue and to encounter another Pokemon of your choice, you have to delete all the cheats, save game progress, exit the game, and reopen the game again.

For this to work: in the Gameshark cheat list, enable the infinite EXP cheat when it says you receive your experience from the battle. This will start to level up your Pokemon and when you want it to stop, you have to disable the infinite exp cheat in you Gameshark cheat list.

How to use: Activate the cheat, battle with someone and after that, enter any building/house, check your Trainer card. If no badges appear, go out the building and enter again, do this at least five times and check again.

(In Navel Rock, continue going straight up in the cave until there are two paths at the end: left is Ho-Oh, right is Lugia. You can battle both of them in any order, since there are only two of them.)

Open your GBA emulator settings function, access the cheat feature, and add the cheat codes. Cheat types can be GameShark, Action Replay, or CodeBreakears. Many popular GBA emulators, including Visual Boy Advance, MyBoy, mGBA, and RetroArch, offer this feature, which is easy to use.

Master Balls will not appear directly in your bag. Depending on the type of cheat you applied, they can either be withdrawn from your PC at the PokeCenter or purchased at the Mart. Let me know if my answer helps.

Master codes are companion codes to the actual cheat. If a cheat requires to have master code, it should be added first and activated as separate cheat. While, Code Breakers, GameSharks or Action Replay are cheat types. If you perhaps input the cheat code in the wrong cheat type, it will not work. There are some emulators that can auto detect cheat types, while some do not. So cheat types and master codes are essential to know in order to make cheats work.

Thanks for visiting Pokemoncoders, Jack. I have a few questions for you. Can you please specify which cheat you are trying to use, is it for obtaining nuggets? Additionally, could you confirm if you are using the FireRed V1.1 version? It would also be helpful to know which Emulator you are using. Providing this information will allow me to assist you more effectively with troubleshooting your issue.

Thanks for coming here, ASentientToaster. Please note that this code is a master code, and it should be added as a separate cheat. Do not combine the master code with the main cheat code.

I am having an issue with pokemon evolving that I cheat in (E.G. Johto, Hoenn Pokemon). It cancels the evolution on me. I tried your solution above with releasing then catching a new one and it does not work. Is there a code that gives me champion title early so that I can have these other pokemon at the beginning so I can evolve them normally? I am on MGBA V. 0.10.3 and fire red 1.0

Thank you for joining us, Rindi. Glad to hear that you like our work here on Pokemoncoders. Just to clarify, do you also use iGBA on iPhone, like Xantos? Perhaps you could consider giving Delta Emulator a try instead?

I am playing on the Iphone iGBA emulator with pokemon red/fire but when I try the pokemon modifier It works all good until I try to throw a pokeball. Then my screen goes black and I need to restart anyone knows how to fix? I use version 1.1

Hi there, Xantos. You have mentioned the emulator iGBA for iPhone, the Delta emulator has just released. Perhaps you could try to use it instead, I tested the cheats on Delta Emulator and it works well.

Shy cheat, can you use the Pokemon modifier code and pick the Pokemon you encounter while using the shiny cheat? If not will the shiny cheat make the starter pokemon shiny when you choose them? And do you need the master codes enabled for the shiny code to work?

Theres an issue with the shiny cheat code, while it does work for me, for some reason all pokemons encountered are male, no way to get female (and it doesnt work together with the female only wild pokemon cheat) but also for some reason the game treats the shiny pokemons caught through this cheat as TRADED pokemon, they seem to obey 10 lvls below your current badge, anymore than that and they wont obey, they also recieve boosted xp for some reason and you cant change their nicknames through name rater cause that doesnt work if pokemon is traded from different language than your game which pokemons caught through that cheats apparently are.
The improved catchrate cheat doesnt work together with: shiny cheat, 1dollar item in market cheat

Thank you for coming here, Myiuri. Regrettably, the shiny cheat is notorious for being buggy. It is highly advisable not to breed a Pokmon that has been obtained using cheats. Pairing cheats with other cheats can lead to random freezing or crashing of your game. I hope this information has been helpful to you.

Which FireRed rom version are you using? Because V1.1 will not work in this game. We compiled a list of information with regards to cheat issues and solutions in this page here -gameshark-cheats-not-working/ and hopefully this will help you.
