Hi Ryan,
Thank you for reaching out with this matter here in the community.
Some time ago we decided to move away from the native mobile apps (Android and iOS) and work towards progressive web apps (PWA) that will enable us to run one APP on all browsers, all sizes and all platforms. So while we are working on this both stores iTunes and Google Play caught up on us with their versions & updates, without options left we had to take the apps of the stores and that is why they are unavailable. Our apologies for this!
I don’t have an ETA for the mobile functionality to be restored, but we are working on this as we speak.
In the mean while I would like to suggest a work around that works with Google Forms. Since Google only allows workspace accounts to upload files through a Google Form, for this to work, you do need to be on a Google Workspace Account (domain). (form submitters can be outside of the domain and use any other email account or even be anonymous)
These are the steps to follow:
1 Create a Google Form that has some fields and add the possibility to upload a file.
2 Enable the Form to collect answers on a Google Sheet.
3 Send the sheet to collaborators to inform their expense, reimbursement or compensation.
When a collaborator of your organization submits the form with a receipt for reimbursement the following happens:
- The file (receipt) uploaded through the form goes to a specific Google Drive Folder.
- The data from the form, together with a link to the file in your Google Drive goes to the Google Sheet.
4 Open the Sheet that collects the answers.
5 Unfreeze the first row of the collected data on the Sheet.
6 Open Bkper Add-on on the Sheet and record the new entries in Bkper so you have everything needly together.
Below the links to a working example:
The form (as a volunteer receives it)
The editable form (remember to make your own form, if not everyone can edit your edits on this public form)
The Google Sheet that collects the answers (remember to associate one with your own form)
The Google Drive Folder with the uploaded files (receipts)
The sample book that recorded the entries from the sheet (Remember this is public)
I have tested the form from the cellphone (Android) and it works properly, you can see the entry from peter with a picture directly from the cellphone camera.
So, if you have the Google Workspace Account and if having the file stored in Google Drive as a link on your transactions in your book is ok for you, than this is a solid work around while we work on this functionality for mobile phones.
Thanks,
Jacob
