Hey friends,

I've spoken to a few of you about this, but just in case, I wanted to make you all aware of a few upcoming events that members of our community are participating in.

This Friday, March 23 a handful of us are heading to see Morgan McGuire in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. Tickets are still available and I'd love for anyone who's interested to join us. The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Tony Award-nominated playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis follows a wild and exciting trial, set in a court room somewhere between Heaven and Hell. Two attorneys and a parade of famous witnesses – Mother Theresa, Sigmund Freud and Pontius Pilate – argue over the fate of Judas Iscariot, known for his betrayal of Jesus. Equally pious and profane, the play transcends religion, offering a compelling, gritty and hilarious look at free will, destiny, faith, forgiveness and redemption.

Admission: $20 general admission - You may purchase tickets by calling 212.352.3101 or at https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/868115
Time: 8PM
Location: 151 West 26th Street, New York

On Saturday, March 24th Fresh Ground Pepper is hosting Clash 2.0Dancers (Choreographed by Megan Ross, w/ performances by Chris Plunkett and Ebony  Ruffin) and musicians will be paired at random to create new pieces on the spot. The performers and the audience won't really know how it's going to pull together until it happens, so it should be a lot of fun AND it's free so you really don't have a valid excuse not to come.

Admission: FREE
Time: 8PM
Location: Windmill Studios, 287 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn

Apart from supporting members of our community, Fresh Ground Pepper is well worth supporting as they're all about helping artists experiment and try new things out. FGP is in the middle of a fundraising campaign so they can keep doing what they're doing. So, even if you're not able to attend, please consider supporting them here - http://www.indiegogo.com/fgpca

I really think that showing up to events like these is one of the ways our church gets to testify to the nature of community -- the encouragement in being known and supported in individual endeavors speaks volumes to those who typically want nothing to do with church events. I also think that it's our privilege to stand along side of our friends and say that we believe that their work has value. Suffice to say, if you're free, I hope you'll consider coming.
