Hi everyone,
This is the latest information from the Occupy Team regarding their relief efforts for this coming weekend in Rockaway. I've tried to group it together, but it's a lot of information. My apologies.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're planning on volunteering in Rockaway please try to be as self-sufficient in heading out there as possible. Bring a lunch, shovels, gloves, face masks, headlamps (if you've got them), a pen and a small pad of paper for note-taking. Dress warmly and wear work-clothes. If you can pack a bag with supplies to donate, great.
Even as we're joining in the efforts of another organization, please bear in mind that this is an opportunity to be the church and in many respects, to help shift pre-conceived notions of what it means to be a Christian. With that in mind, act in humility, serve wherever you're asked and anticipate a certain amount of chaos.
