A nice story from Reb Levik. Every year Reb Levik would get very emotional during his YK davening. One year, chassidim noticed that he was unusually calm on YK. When they asked him why this year was different,  he replied, "This year YK is on shabbos. The halacha is that one may not write on shabbos unless its pekuach nefesh. Therefore Hashem can only write us in to the book of Life".
