Really nice talking with all of you at Makerspace last time. Here is a event you might find interesting.

We are having a Skype meeting with Ariel of Safecast (http://blog.safecast.org/) this Friday morning to talk about how to improve the air sensing project in Beijing. 

The Safecast project is one of the most successful sensor projects which is famous for mapping the radiation level in Japan after the 3/11 earthquake.

We really wish all of our projects could learn from their previous experiences.

We are working with Interaction Beijing on the social issue of Beijing Air Quality.

Interaction Beijing is founded by Professor FeiJun from CAFA, which focus on Design For Change in different aspects, inviting speaker and mentor from Frog, IDEO, and founders and designers from great studios around the world as well as professors from design universities.

The theme of this year's event is all about a AIR&Environment, we are developing several ideas together which you guys can find in the attached file. 

Also, we are holding a hackthone (48 hour non-stop creation) called HACK FOR AIR! on July 6th to July 7th, since we talked before all separately before about AIR Pojects, I think you guys might be interested in this!

The hackthone will also have interesting guys from music, fashion design, industrial design, digital interaction, graphic design, documentary and so on, tell your friends to join!!

And also it will be a great start for what in my mind will be awesome like A HACK FOR SOCIAL BENEFIT organization, which do open calls among all different fields doing Hackthone and Projects giving real solution to social problems.

Lets meet soon maybe this Friday, Bernie is coming back to Shanghai in several days.

So, Let me do a bit introduction:

Zekai, a long-time friend who I used to work with when doing sustainable issues, he attended the United Nations Sustainable Development Meetings in Cop and Rio, and has a great connection among Environment Organizations and Expertise.

Gao Ying, engineer from Intel. Gao and Mr Gansha(First Intel Global Chief Engineer in China) are brilliant engineers from Intel, and they are interested in PM2.5 stuff and also Intel Lab Beijing is now have dozens of Dylos in their office.

Jimmy, cool standford guy who gonna go Facebook soon is helping Professor Lu from Tsinghua University, who is also doing PM2.5 stuff and an cross-border NGO on this issue, Mr Lu is now in Silicon Valley and he has talked to some big companies there about this issue.

Bernie War is a friend who is in Shanghai doing an open source Air Fliter. Also Luan Xuan is a genius maker who developed a whole new hardware&coding environment similar to Arduino who also helped with a small Air Fliter project before.

Dustin is member in the Beijing Makerspace who did air prediction based on the hardware IOIO and android APP.

Lao Liu is friend of the Makerspace who build a website for Internet of Things basically you can put you sensor data on there and shows a map of sensors across China, they have also done Air projects in agriculture field.

Zhanghao,Goldengrapes and ZH are great DIYers and makers enrolled with the Makerspace who has tried some stuff in Air Quality.
