Hello everyone,
I have some great news to share, and thought it would be best to share with all of you. Remember the presentation that I did in class last year on my paper about The Globalization of Hijab Fashion? Well, I sent it in to a call for papers, and it got accepted. So I will be presenting my paper next month at The Global Fashion Management conference in London at London College of Fashion! yayyyy!! I'm so excited because this will be my first academic conference presentation :-) The audience will get to listen to the same presentation that you received exclusively a year ahead :-)
Some of you might have already graduated. I've transfered over to SMU in Dallas, and am extremely happy about the program, I have no regrets about letting go of Parsons :-)

That's wonderful news Elif! I was still under the impression you were at the CUNY Graduate Center. I'm glad you are finding your current program rewarding. Do you mind sending me a link to the conference and if you don't mind your paper. A friend of mine from Kashmir is a journalist and as a muslim woman, I think she might really enjoy it. I'm happy to see you talking about the Hijab as both a designer and as a muslim woman. I wish you all the best.
I've moved on as well and am currently at Yale University in the Sociology department. Do let me know if you are in town. We should stay in touch.
