Trade Show Exhibiting doesn't exactly define as a "official" method of
Export Brokerage but because of the potential to initiate on-the-spot sales
and actually expose a Product Line to hundreds of real time Buyers at once,
with potential follow-up sales, I really feel that Trade Show Exhibiting
should be a consideration for any enterprising Export Broker planing on ever
increasing income opportunities.

To rent a booth at a Trade Show in the US is appox $1,800 - $2,800 USD for a
three day Show, with the high end being in cities like New York which would
cost $6,000 USD an up. Overseas Trade Shows start at $2,500 - $4,000 USD.

Now, an average Trade Show is the US we'll say costs $3,000 dollars, this a
lotta money to put up-front, you would need a method to enable you to first
reserve booth space, pay for it in advance, (be self financing) and afford
you a profit before the Show begins. Typically, a new to Exporting company
or any Seller that you may acquire with an interest in obtaining additional
sales through new Export markets would jump at the idea of their product
being demonstrated and or displayed at a major Trade Show for your fee of
lets say.... $800 - $900 dollars per 3 day Trade Show. If you line up 6 - 7
paying clients in advance for one Trade Show you walk away with $2,500
dollars for three days of work.

The most favorable position to be in at the conclusion of using the method I
have just described would be to secure the "exclusive rights" to be the Sole
Broker for a clients Product Lines into a overseas territory. Which is
foreseeable if you focus on new to Exporting client companies. By
continuously consolidating and expanding your client base you will be able
to walk into a Trade Show with a handsome profit before the Show evens
begins.

Ideally this would be the course of action to take. ITB does employ this
method both here in the US and Overseas, more often than not ITB will try to
split the cost of the attending the Trade Shows with Associates or other
interested parties to further reduce cost of booth space and increase
profits of course.

A Fax program capable of sending multiple faxes, I recommend Pro Comm Plus
2.0 this is what ITB uses, Pro Comm Plus actually has an automatic
unattended Fax Back option that allows your Buyers to fax themselves back
your price list or other important documents and will save you on phone
bills. Pro Comm Plus also has a build in Bulletin Board option that allows
you to have a multi user BBS type function on your computer. Really useful
program.

Looking to break into new markets, but don't know where to begin ?
