This is just one authoritive source that feels bulk E-Mail is the lowest
form of advertising a company can do to itself. The folks that want to sell
you E-Mail lists or do mailings for you are not going to explain:
1. The vast majority of readers are so used to nothing but MLM's, chain
letters, quick-bucks, and downright frauds arriving in their E-Mail
box, they delete them immediately.
2. A significant number of readers will spend the time to file a complaint
with the source ISP. That usually gets the bulk mailer disconnected and
that often includes their web pages.
3. If you read through all of the responses, even if you are offering a
significant product or service at a bargain price, you may have to
read through thousands of nasty notes to find a few that are actually
interested.
In other words, unsolicited bulk E-Mail is only suitable for those who wish
to cash in on a few unknowledgeable people who might mail a check. They've
killed the golden goose and bulk E-Mail doesn't even work for scammers now.
Save your time and money and place your advertising where it's productive.
