TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER (Anderson)
The Technical Support Engineer (TSE) provides technical &
informational support to Thomson TBUs who have deployed applications
on TEIR infrastructure. As the primary contact for all operational &
technical support, the TSE is responsible for taking a support request
& managing it through to resolution. (Requests will range from
inquiries for general information to complex technical issues and
will come in via phone, e-mail, and the trouble-ticket system.) The
TSE is instrumental in protecting the engineering staff from undue
involvement in problem resolution and will make all attempts to solve
a problem without escalation. In the event of escalation, the TSE
will monitor the request through to resolution, tapping all resources
necessary. The TSE will also be instrumental in building and
maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base of information and
resolutions to technical issues to reduce the number of requests which
require escalation. The successful candidate will posses a minimum of
a high-school diploma and customer service experience in supporting
PCs and windows-based applications in an Internet environment. Strong
technical orientation and experience with WEB browsers and information
retrieval applications are a must.. Excellent written and oral
communication are also required.. Experience with automated
trouble-ticketing systems a plus.
