Have you seen all the messages selling reports? It looks like they are
having a tremendous success since there are so many of them.

Actually, most of these reports have been bouncing around the E-Ways for
many years. Since it's very difficult (if not impossible) to protect
copyrights on UseNet/Internet, what happens is someone posts a message
selling some reports for $10.00. Three or four people buy copies and
also start selling them at $8.00. Then another group starts selling
them at $5.00. If you wait a little longer, someone will start giving
them away to promote something else.

The results are similar to what happens with pyramid marketing. The
newsgroups get loaded with duplicates and nobody makes any money at it.
If the reports are linked with a pyramid distribution method or sound
like the same reports that have been kicking around for over ten years,
they will probably be rejected on the moderated biz groups.

Before you start selling reports on the E-Ways (Electronic Highways),
please think about it a bit. Text based products are far too easy to
replicate. Before you start writing, at least plan on a form of
packaging that reduces the chances of someone pirating your materials
and cutting your market out from under you.

If you are interested in a wide selection of business related reports,
you can log on the Small Business Association (SBA) for free at
http://www.sba.gov or use the http://www.bizynet.com/faq-indx.htm page
to get there. You'll find articles on how to write business plans,
create a corporation, find venture capital, and just about anything you
can think of. This is where many of the "reports" you see being sold
came from.
