PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
In order to make it easier for business partners to develop and market
top-quality applications, Digital is introducing Software Developer Kits
(SDK) for OpenVMS and Digital UNIX environments. The Software Developer
Kits are an easy and inexpensive way for members of the Association of
Software & Application Partners (ASAP) program to acquire a functional
set of Digital's software development tools for each of these operating
environments.
ASAP is designed to further strengthen Digital's rapidly growing
portfolio of third-party software applications. The ASAP program provides
members with a broad base of development, support, promotional tools and
services, and a broad range of incentives, including aggressive financial
plans, unrestricted access to software development experts and
facilities, and marketing and training support, to make it easier and
more attractive for them to develop software applications on and for
Digital platforms. The program is open to software partners throughout
the U.S., Canada, Europe, and selected areas in Asia/Pacific.
The Software Developer Kits contain the most current version of either
OpenVMS or Digital UNIX, as well as approximately 100 layered software
products of the most commonly used software development tools. Users who
subscribe to the Software Developer Kits also receive updates of the
operating system and layered software packages based on Digital's
standard schedule of software release. Users must own either an OpenVMS
or Digital UNIX operating system base license in order to purchase the
appropriate Software Developer Kit for that operating system. Members of
ASAP have the right to use the Software Developer Kits for the duration
of their membership term; membership must be renewed on a yearly basis.
A Windows NT Software Developer Kit is also available directly from the
Microsoft Developer Network. A description of the kit can be accessed
through Microsoft's WWW page (http://www.microsoft.com/) or by calling
the Microsoft Developer Network at 1-800-759-5474 in the U.S., or
