Product description

Reliable Transaction Router V3.1 for the Windows NT operating system
extends critical high-availability/reliability features to the Windows NT
environment for both Alpha and Intel platforms. Reliable Transaction
Router is middleware for distributed client/server applications that
require continuous availability, transaction integrity, and scalable
performance. It is intended for applications where downtime, lost data,
or slow response time will affect profits or customer satisfaction.

Reliable Transaction Router provides reliable, transactional messaging
between distributed client, router, and server systems. Application
software is insulated from the underlying complexity of the network
configuration. Reliable Transaction Router detects failures in the
distributed environment and provides transparent failover and transaction
integrity. It provides for flexible growth of high-performance or widely
distributed environments, as business requirements dictate.

Reliable Transaction Router provides low risk, open technology that is
adaptable to changing business needs. Typical applications include
trading and settlement systems, stock and option exchanges, travel
reservation systems, retail point-of-sale (POS) systems, and distributed
just-in-time (JIT) inventory systems.

Reliable Transaction Router can be utilized on a variety of clients,
including Windows NT on Alpha or Intel desktops; MS-Windows and MS-DOS
PCs; or OpenVMS, Digital UNIX, and Sun workstations. Router and server
capabilities are available on Windows NT on Alpha or Intel systems,
OpenVMS VAX or Alpha systems, Digital UNIX systems, and Sun systems.

BENEFITS

Reliable Transaction Router provides continuous system availability
across globally distributed systems, which eliminates disruptions
resulting from system outages to business operations and the resulting
revenue losses or customer dissatisfaction. Scalability allows users to
grow their client/server network as their business needs change without
disruptions. This product also provides transaction and data shadowing
for failover transparency. Investment protection is provided through
interoperability with Reliable Transaction Router across a wide range of
hardware platforms, operating systems, presentation services, and
databases.
