DECpc XL PERSONAL COMPUTERS
OVERVIEW
The new, aggressively-priced DECpc XL series of personal computers
offers the ultimate upgrade path for PC buyers, and is the most
expandable family on the market today. The systems feature the
user's choice of i486 or Pentium microprocessors, and are upgradable
to future i486, Pentium or Alpha AXP processor technology when
available in the first half of 1994. The DECpc XL systems are also
among the first in the industry to use the new standard PCI local
bus architecture for the highest possible peripheral performance,
and are the latest addition to Digital's premium product line of
PCs.

Force) socket (supports both i486 5V and future 3.3V
processors via jumperless setup)

Prices include 8MB RAM, 340MB SCSI hard drive, 3.5" floppy disk
drive, S3-928PCI local bus video, 1MB VRAM, dual SCSI CD-ROM,
Microsoft DOS and Windows, mouse and keyboard. Digital also
offers a variety of monitors including a 14" non-interlaced SVGA
monitor priced at $399, and 14" interlaced SVGA monitor priced
at $299.
The DECpc XL 433dx and 466d2 systems are available on November
30. The DECpc XL 560 will be available by December 15, and the
DECpc XL 566 will be offered in January. All systems can be
purchased through the company's Desktop Direct catalog at
800-210-1408, through Digital's direct sales force, and
authorized resellers.
