PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The LA600 MultiPrinter is a high resolution, narrow- and wide-carriage,
receive-only impact dot matrix printer with great versatility. Occupying a
position between Digital's line printers and high end desktop matrix
printers (it is not a replacement for the LA424), it is designed for
environments where high speed and flexible paper handling are critical
requirements.
The LA600 features a 24 wire printhead, automatic paper thickness
adjustment, and multiple paper paths for thick multipart forms. Included
with each unit is a powerful Windows 3.1 driver that supports virtually all
Windows based application software. Optional Personality Modules allow
connection to IBM Coax/Twinax and Ethernet LAN environments, making the
LA600 appropriate for a wide variety of computing platforms and network
connectivity. The printer's built-in DEC ANSI (PPL2) protocol provides the
advantage of backward compatibility with existing DEC ANSI applications, so
there is no need to alter them. If you are not using the OpenVMS operating
system, the DEC ANSI capability is also offered optionally as a Personality
Module.
