I am running Windows 2000 professional with Internet explorer 6.026.
Internet explorer keeps shutting down and giving me a message about the
version number, as follows.
appname iexplorer appver 6.02600.0
modname apitrap.dll modver 1.0.0.1
offset 00003646.

Question who gives a damn. Am I going to have to dump Microsoft for this
childish crap.

Second Question Outlook express will not open it's slid show even though the
script settings have been set as instructed. Why is that the new the
programs the worse they are?

Any Idea's on Either problem?

Additional information. my e-mail works fine in Outlook, and, my news groups
are all readable. Only any and all graphics files need to be opened using
the attachment paper clip which opens internet explorer, but the problem
with explorer doesn't occur then.

apitrap.dll is not a Microsoft file. I think it's a Symantec file.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/slideshow.htm

OE 6 does not support the slide show.

Go to Start | Run and type:

regedit

Navigate to this key (in the left pane):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{big long number}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook
Express\5.0\

and delete these two values in the right pane:

"Automatically Inline Images" and
"Automatic Slide Show Delay"

You can, however, keep "Automatically Inline Images" if you set it to 0 or
1. This could be useful if you want to totally suppress the display of
images. (0 to suppress images, 1 to allow them.)
