Attaching publication trends in the field of computer science. Its interesting to note that as business requirements pertaining to managing huge data have grown, allied fields in computer science have also shown increase in publications. AI - 308142 publications , Data Mining - 62082 Databases 137010 , Pattern Recognition 134266. The figures are number of publications from (1960 - present) in each category.
All the publications have gone into leading conferences and show an interesting trend. All areas which help you analyze information better have grown significantly as opposed o their counterparts like (Security & Privacy or Programming Languages, gone down :) ) This shows where we are heading.
