Having the same issue. The previous Chrome update about a week ago has ruined my chess.com experience. Since the update, chrome will get so resource-hungry while on Chess.com, it lags to the point I have to restart my browser after about an hour of play. Gaming, endless tabs, etc. does not cause this - only Chess.com. The current update (from yesterday or the day before) has started these "Page unresponsive" pop-ups which is further ruining chess.com. The page is clearly not unresponsive as I'm still able to play after selecting "wait" on the popup.

I'm wondering if you have AdBlock. Something I noticed while typing this - on the lower left hand side of the browser it might say "waiting for *.media.net" - I believe the ads are constantly trying to load and that part of the page is becoming unresponsive - prompting the popup.

Hi I have disabled Adblock on Chess.com and refreshed the page. The errors and lag have disappeared. Chess.com or the ad company seem to be trying to ruin your experience on the site if you block their ads. Bullying you to purchase platinum I guess. The advertisements change shape and size and it causes the board on Chess.com to resize and get off-set, causing me to mouse-slip twice in the 5 minutes i've had ads unblocked. Further bullying me to get platinum I guess lol

I am having constant "Pages Unresponsive" popups during matches and during menuing while on Chess.com. Sounds like a Chrome issue based on others' reports but this is entirely the reason I've lose several close bullet matches. Constantly closing out windows during games is ridiculous. I've had to close out like 20 just typing this message on here!!!!

i was just using that same chrome version (100.0.4896.75), and yeah, i got "pages unresponsive" popups every few seconds while i was playing. but after updating chrome to 100.0.4896.88 i haven't been getting any "page unresponsive" errors in general. so maybe try updating chrome?

What makes this so frustrating to debug is that I literally cannot see anything that happens while the page freezes. I tried to take a performance snap shot use their page reload button from within the profiler and that just crashed after it used 9G of memory. Going to try again but after commenting out a bunch of the physics code.

My project also just started hanging really bad (like chrome or brave goes unresponsive many many times), both locally and deployed, on win11. It loads eventually, after like 3 minutes. Playgrounds do the same.

(note: just checked again, problem came right back)
When it finally loads into any tab, it will refresh normally and new tabs open normally.
As soon as I close all the tabs with it loaded, opening a new tab megastalls again.

I hope I am in the correct place. My product would be AVG Secure Browser (Free). I deleted the Virus Protection portion of FREE AVG as I felt it was dramatically slowing down the speed of my system. Yes, it did help greatly. This is a NEW computer last winter. On my old Laptop w/Windows 10, I had no issues running Google Chrome and AVG together as I did prefer Chrome. However, on this system, right out of the box, ALL Google Chrome activity was incredibly slow to respond or completely unresponsive. I had to uninstall Chrome. Now, over the past 3 months, AVG Secure Browser has become completely unstable. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to with no noticeable difference. What were messages saying "No Internet Detected" have now become "Page Not Responsive" pop ups. My computer is still connected to internet just fine. My phone works on my home network just fine. Existing web pages that are open work just fine. However, I can not open NEW web pages! This is happening now about every 2 hours. The ONLY way to resolve it temporarily is to kill the Power Button on the laptop and restart it. Then everything works lightning fast again. I took a screen shot of my Fios Speed Test and as you can see, my connectivity is crap! I have checked on my network adapter and drivers and the message says I have the most current available drivers.

Thanks Bala...

Yes, the problem occurs with ALL websites I try to access with a new tab, or a clickable that opens a link in a new tab. As i said before, I can use Microsoft Edge and open new website URLs no problem. This is exclusive SOLELY to AVG. I do have Windows Bit Defender running in the background as my ONLY anti virus protection. As I said, I deleted AVG Anti virus because of all the problems I was having before. Now I have all these new problems!

LOL....right now I have typed this response to you and I click on the "Answer" tab and nothing whatsoever happens. I will have to save my response to Notepad and do a forced shut down/restart yet again! BBS. I did in fact refresh this page and it also says Page Not Responding!

I did go in to Control Panel and ran the Troubleshooter on a number of possibilities including compatibility. I switched the compatibility back to Windows 8 to try to isolate if this is a Windows 10 overall compatibility issue.

I am back again as the problem has returend with new symptoms. I have a dozen tabs open and minimized. Any attempt whatsoever to open a new Google Search window just spins and spins. Then I get a message that the Page Has Become Unresponsive. This goes on for an unlimited amount of time. If I go to any of the open tabs like Facebook or Twitter, I can move around inside those pages no problem. I can go over to Microsoft Edge and open internet just fine and do a search no problem. If I click on Internet Connectivity and disable/reenable internet connection I still can not access a new Google page through AVG.

If your pages remain unresponsive even after being refreshed several times, you can try the incognito mode for help. The incognito mode will disable any latent and malicious plugins, adds-on, and extensions when using it. Therefore, please open an incognito window and see whether you can use TTRS without issues.

If your Win or Mac has recently gone through an update, small or big, you should go to check for an update for Google Chrome. Sometimes, this could be a problem of compatibility. Also, some users that the trouble is resolved after they reinstall Google Chrome.

Once disabled, you need to close the browser and open it again. This is a great fix when Chrome page unresponsive errors happen due to too many opened tabs. This is because there is too much workload in your browser.

Same here. I did discover that deactivating Classic Editor gets me past the unresponsive issue on some pages. But those pages then will not update changes that I make. And other pages continue to be unresponsive.

When I edit page content with Pro page builder, the page gets stuck and becomes unresponsive. I am not able to edit and save content. Please see attached screenshot. Pro-Unresponsive-Page19201080 308 KB

Meanwhile, if the problem persists we need your permission to do more tests and that might cause problems on the front end of the website. So I want to make sure that you have another live version and this is not the live version of your website, if it is, please create a staging version for our test. You can ask WP Engine to do that for you.

Thank you all for looking into this issue. I have tried changing the child to the parent theme, I tried deactivating all plugins but still, I can replicate the page builder freezing issue. I tried troubleshooting with the web host wpmudev. But it seems the issue is with the theme. Could you please look into the site again?

I can still replicate the issue, and page builder freezes and it generates thousands of JS errors. I tried all below things but still there is an issue with the page builder and media upload from the page builder.

It looks to be a JS conflict, since most of your plugins are already deactivated I did test your custom JS in Theme Options by removing all of it temporarily, and that get rid of that JS error. So you might need to do some audits on those custom scripts. However, when I add back the said JS codes the error did not return any more.

Would you please kindly ask the hosting provider to give you a zip of your website files and the database export? Then please upload the zip file and database export to a sharing service such as Dropbox and share the link via Secure Note?

Specifically, the freezing only happens when I start working on any text element. It boils down to the Font Manager. If I disable it in Theme Options > Typography, the Executive Team posts works. I could edit and save. You can see that I have edited the post in the secure note.

I have activated parent theme, deactivated all plugins, contacted wpmudev web host, also tested site on Bluehost. I tried all possible ways to troubleshoot this issue. But still, there is an issue with the page builder.

I noticed that two scripts may be causing issues. In the console, it generates thousands of errors and that makes the page unresponsive. It seems there is an issue with the theme JS file and maybe it conflicts with wordpress js files. Please check this if it is helpful.

It could consistently be reproduced by adding a new section, clicking a column layout, then trying to drag in an element. The element would still be added, but it would not show the highlight styling to know where it would be dropped.

For a long time now I have had issues with ArcGIS Online not loading correctly on Google Chrome (always kept up to date) on various computers from different locations. I login and then just get greeted with this loading animation.
