Ihave ATI RADEON 9550/X1050 video card.

I had windows xp 32 bit system and i updated my drivers easly with no problems then i installed windows 7 and there is no new update from manufactre and no open gl drives are at my pc for now there is microsoft mode or something (Microsoft corparation WDDM) is there a way to get only open gl drivers without ather drives to make it work?

I have 32 bit and i installed what drivers for vista i finked it works but after i rebooted my pc i just got [censored] screen all colors mixed up so i have to use safe mode to back up to my restore point

Alternately a GeForce 6600GT can be picked up on eBay for the price of a beer, is still being supported with new drivers, and has newer extensions made available to it where appropriate. There really is no reason to be holding on to such hardware.

As stated, AMD support the Radeon 95xx and 97xx series of cards to Cat 10.2 on Vista platform. The release notes go on to state that there is no offical support for Windows 7. They suggest you could try and install the vista driver on Windows 7 but there is no official support for it.

The feature set for the R9700/R9500 series is really the Cat 9.3 release as the later Catalyst drivers upto Cat 10.2 support more Features but only for the newer Radeon models.

This means that there is support for OpenGL 3.0 but no higher GL versions (and propably a whole range of early driver revision bugs).

Found a fix i downloaded what windows vista drivers (as you know it doesn work after reboot so i didnt what) and updated drivers with device manager and it installed that same microsoft drivers for vindows 7 and it asked reboot and i shecek my pc info openg gl drivers apeared now i can use it

Here is a doozy. I bought a ze2000 at a rummage sale just to play around with, but I realized that it has a little bit of life left in it, so I upgraded to Windows 8 (NOT 8.1, the option is not there in the OS menu) x86. Windows Update has found sound, wireless networking, and everything else BUT video drivers. The laptop has an ATI Radeon Mobility Xpress 200G. I downloaded legacy Xpress 200 series drivers from AMD for Vista and Catalyst said that the driver was installed successfully, but nothing changed. The log is down below. Any idea where I can get some graphics acceleration for Windows 8 on Xpress 200G? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

By default you should be using the standard radeon driver. If that isn't good enough, try the bleeding edge Xorg from the xorg crack pusher team. Performance with my Radeon x300 shot way up. The compiz window switcher now produces a 3d holograms as the screen flips around workspaces, and with a python module it can enlarge my screenspace without changing the resolution or dpi.

Packages for those who think development versions, experimental and unstable are for old ladies. We want our crack straight from upstream git! Well, straight, we want it built and packaged so we don't need to know what we're doing, except that we will break our X and put our computers on fire.

No way for proprietary drivers (those downloaded directly from AMD), since AMD does not provide support for that graphic card. Open source ones shold be already up and running in your system (dmesg grep -i radeon should provide you with some lines proving that the open source RADEON drivers are working)

I have a desktop running Windows 8. I've installed it recently. But the problem is, I cannot install the graphics driver. The graphics card is ATI Radeon Xpress 200 series. When I try, "Update driver software", it says driver isn't compatible with this version of Windows. It worked fine with Windows 7. I also tried disabling driver signature enforcement mode. But it didn't work either.

I installed Windows 98 on an eMachines T5048 and it's working pretty well, except the only GPU that I have a chance of getting working is the integrated Xpress 200, and I can't get the drivers to work. The latest AMD drivers from its page don't install, not detecting compatible hardware. Using device manager to force it only gives me a error 24. I don't know how to get this working.

There's a chance it is never going to work, this chipset never had drivers available for 9x line... I have been lucky with the two machines but that is where my knowledge and experience ends unfortunately.

If any OEM massaged xpress 200 drivers to work on 98, I think it would have been Compaq, as they held over 98 support for a few years for the business customers that clung onto 98 based systems and software rather than XP. So to do that, it goes, ID earliest compaq with radeon xpress, ID the softpaq for it's 98 gfx drivers, extract manually with winrar gzip or something that can handle the softpaq files, install manually.

I'm surprised I didn't post back with my results, I have two Xpress 200 based machines, both eMachines, but one is AMD, and the other is Intel. The Intel one just didn't work, however the AMD one works fine with the drivers. The Intel one is the T5048, and iirc the AMD one is the T6520.

I ran Xpress 1100 on windows ME, with catalyst 6.2 for 98/ME.

I manually gave it the x300 or x300 family driver (I don't remember which of the two) and it worked without giving me any errors.

After that I installed the control panel separately from the usual driver package.

You could try it too, maybe if those drivers don't work you could also try the mobility x300 drivers. They are all boards from the same family, so as it worked for me, it might work for you too.
