Dear All, Greetings from ICON - IIM Bangalore Consulting Club! ICON, proudly presents the first edition of the annual Inter B-School Case Competition – “RUBICON 2017”. With cash prizes worth INR 1 Lakh, Rubicon will bring together the smartest minds across the finest campuses and have them fight it out for the prestigious title of being the Best Business Strategists in the country.  "Crossing the Rubicon" means to pass a point of no return, and it refers to Julius Caesar's army's crossing of the Rubicon River (in Northern Italy) in 49 BC, which was considered a strategic act of insurrection. This Rubicon, the smartest will gather once again to cross the river of guile and strategy! Format of the event The championship will boast of three events, a preliminary quiz on competitive strategy, an intermediate simulation game round and a final online case competition to test the aspirants on a variety of business skills. Teams from the participating campuses will compete in the simulation game round, the selection for which will be based on a preliminary elimination round of online quizzing. The top teams from the simulation game will further compete in an online case competition to determine the winners! Round 1 - Preliminary Round Online Quiz – The Quiz will determine the best teams from each of the participating colleges in the event. The quiz will consist of strategy caselets and will judge the candidates on their analytical skills and ability to draw key business insights. Date: 12th January, 2017 Time: 7 PM - 8 PM slot Round 2 - Intermediate Round Simulation Game: The game will provide the qualifying teams a chance to run their own company and take strategic decisions to emerge victorious in a resource constrained environment. The game will test candidates on their decision making skills in a virtual business arena! Date: 16th January, 2017 Time: To be communicated later Round 3 - Finals Online Case Competition: In this round, the qualified teams will be given a case wherein they will be required to carry out an in-depth analysis of the situation in hand and provide strategic recommendations. Tentative Dates: 18th January - 26th January Prize Money worth INR 1 Lakh is up for grabs!!
