Goverdhan Lila

This Sunday I heard a wonderful lecture from HH Rompada Maharaj about the beautiful pastime of Goverdhan Lila .I will try to share what ever I can.
Maharaj was explaining that Krsna has 64 qualities –out of these 4 qualities are very unique to him
2 0f them are:
1) Krsna is an expert…seemingly effortless task is performed by Him with great ease
2) Krsna is clever … by doing 1 activity automatically acheives many results
Krsna performed this wonderful pastime to remove the pride from Indra.
Another internal reason is that – When Krsna performs pastimes with 1 group of devotees in Vrndavan,Others feel sad being away from Krsna.So to please all the residents of Vrndavan – Krsna performed this pastime to be with all his devotees for 7 days and 7 nights.Each of the Vrajbasis had a feeling that Krsna is reciprocating with me , so Krsna was sharing all the 5 different Rasas with all his devotees.
Krsna doesn’t like pride in his devotees, meditating on Goverdhan Lila helps us to remove our pride.
On that day , in the morning Krsna delivered the wives of the Brahmanas.
Krsna is Bhakta Vatsal , in order to meet his devotees , the wives of the Brahmanas, he orchestrated the Gopas to be hungry (although Gopas generally carry Big Big lunch boxes J).So when the gopas informed this to Krsna , Krsna asked them to go to this place where the Brahmanas were performing the sacrifice and request them Prasad on behalf of Krsna and Balarama.
The Brahamanas simply ignored the Gopas ‘s plea.Krsna smiled (indicated that he knew that they would be ignored)and directed them to the Wives of the Brahmanas.The wives became jubliant when they heard the names of Krsna and Balarama from the gopas.They left their activities and accompanied the Gopas to meet Krsna along with a wonderful prasad….
In the afternoon , when Nanda Maharaj ordered the Vrajbasis to prepare the sacrifice for Yagya, Krsna
Used Aethiestic philosophy(that providing resources for livingbeings is a duty of Demi gods , therefore one need not put in efforts to please them) to convince them that instead they should please Goverdhan Hill who provides fresh grass, streams , fruit bearing trees to the Vrajbasis..
There are 3 Hari s in the Lila – gopal who lifted the
Goverdhan Hill
- Hari who accepted the Offering s made\
- Goverdhan – is Krsna , in the mood of his devotee
Goverdhan was estatic when Krsna lifted him, though Indra was using his Samvartak clouds,thunderbolts against him.He was completely absorbed in contact with Krsna .
Krsna also demonstrated the importance of cows, Indra was forgiven by Krsna only after Surabhi cow forgave him.
