Validity of BITS degrees

Dear Mr. Abhijit Mishra,

Once again, please refer to the first point and the last two points in my note sent earlier.

BITS Pilani, being a Deemed University is empowered to award its own degrees. Hence all degrees awarded by BITS shall remain valid universally.

The criteria for suitability of any degree for any higher education or employment opportunity are decided by the respective institutions or organizations.

If you need further clarification, you may contact the respective organizations or institutions.

Heartiest Greetings. My sincere thanks for your response.

My concern was not to create ripples but to seek information. Your name was not mentioned for addressing these kind of concerns thus I had to raise this issue to all. 

Is the degree approved by DEC for the batch 2012-2014? As per my understanding Ex-Post-Facto recognition is valid for previous years not this batch. WILP is a Distance Education mode of BITS Pilani for which DEC gives recognition which have been revoked. 

All I request you to share with me, Whether my degree is valid or recognised by Government of India or not ? I request you to please share the status as the attachment shared by you does not answers this aspect.

Please refer to the attached note for more information on the status of  recognition and equivalence  of the M.S. degree programmes offered through the Work Integrated Learning Programmes of BITS Pilani.

Please note that the question of expiry of recognition by DEC does not arise, when DEC had accorded only an Ex-Post-Facto recognition for the  period 1995 to 2007-2008 on 24th November  2009.

If you have any specific queries or concerns, please write to me. Marking copies to many senior officers of the Institute will not help in getting quicker responses.

This is to bring in your kind attention that I was looking at the website of Distance Education Council (www.dec.ac.in) which is a statutory body in India for recognizing the education on Distance Education platform. In the section of recognition of the website of Distance Education Council (http://www.dec.ac.in/RecognitionGuidelines.htm),  the Distance Education Council has mentioned the name of Birla Institute of Technology and Science recognition status as expired as on 31 March 2013. Also it is mentioned that the Birla Institute of Technology and Science's validity of awarding degree of M.S. Program in Consultancy Management expired in 2007-2008. Please find the files downloaded from the website of the Distance Education Council for your kind perusal.

 

Kindly respond to the status of our M.S. in Consultancy Management program. If the Distance Education Council decision stands then our degree would be valid only if our degree are considered as a regular degree by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
