Hello,
Please share your viva experience who have given till now.
Just want to know one thing do they really check soft copy uploaded by us or they just check hard copy carried by us?

Thanks,
Ankita Gupta.

Hi,

My exp. from viva:

1) BITS professors compares soft copy with hard copy. There should not be any differences.
2) After verification, they will return hard copy to you.
3) If require, they will ask you to make changes in the report and re-submit it.

Thanks Sunny,

I have a software project as my dissertation.

Due to company security policies, I can't demonstrate the exact project. For this reason, I am preparing a small prototype for the same.

So in this case, do I need to carry any letter from my company or there is no need for it ?

Will it affect the final evaluation ?

In addition to it, could you please elaborate the process of viva ? How much time do they take for individual ? How big is the panel and what are their mail expectations from presentation ?

Thanks & Regards,

Deepak

In my project also, I could not demonstrate it. But i carried letter from the company with me but they did not ask abt the letter from me. Same was the case with few other students there.

Each dissertation is assigned to one professor. He will ask you to give presentation and in between he will ask you questions. Max. time for each dissertation was 30 mins.

sunny,

Are they asking with an intention to corner us or just expected questions?

BITS professors are really intelligent they don't listen to any jagran ... they are interested in real work and ask very basic questions to test our basic knowledge..

Hi Guys,

I had Viva on Apr 4th. For each people they will assign one professor and they will give time slot. You just need to go to particular professor room at given time.

I have shown my company project. They didn't ask about the either demo or company letter. But for safer side you can carry the letter from organization.

One important thing you should carry your supervisor evaluation sheet separately with supervisor & additional examiner sign and their evaluation. They will take this evaluation sheet at the time of introduction program before the Viva.

Also if possible carry your laptops, it will be convenient for you to explain to them. They didn't ask much about the technical and most of the questions they asked from our presentation.

Finally they will compare your soft copy docs with hard copy  docs, if there is any mismatch they will ask you to do the changes and need to upload with in 10 days.

All the best guys!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

The purpose of the project is to use the subjects I have learnt like Design patterns in the project...

What kind of questions will they ask about the project?

Hello All,

Can anyone please share template/format of the letter, which we should get from our organization, in case we don't want to give our project demo.

Grade wise, how was your viva?
Means which kind of work whether it is related to employing organization or some new area or academic projects are prefered for excellent grades?

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,
Rajinder

hi
i had my viva in april. it was cordial and pleasant. the session usually lasts for about 20-25minutes. it is one on one. u start by giving ur hard copy of the project and telling him a brief jist abt it. he checks the hard copy and hands it over back to u. it helps if ur project can be demonstrated. he will basically try and quiz u abt the project and how u have gone abt it. among the students in my batch, all of us sailed through with one having to modify his project slightly. so the percentages are in ur favour. ur project on the face of it can be demonstrated. so try and do that. u r short of time, so practice what u want to show. show the meat and u will be through.
all the best
rajeev
