Bitney Community Members,

Here are your updates for the coming week.

Charter Council Meeting - Tuesday, February 11, 2025 - 6:00 pm

The monthly meeting of the Bitney Prep Charter Council is on Tuesday at 6:00 pm.  The Charter Council meets in the Administration building.  This is a public meeting and all members of our community are welcome to attend.  Agendas for Charter Council meetings are posted at the school and on our school website.  The Charter Council has space for a couple of new members to join.  If you are interested, the first step is to attend a Charter council meeting.

President’s Day Holidays - Friday, February 12, and Monday, February 13, 2025

School is closed next Friday and Monday for the annual President’s Day Holidays.  Students will return to school on Tuesday. February 14th.

BPHS WASC Family Survey

Bitney Prep is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).  Our accreditation establishes our school with other high schools and colleges.  This year, we are having an accreditation visit from a WASC Visiting Committee in early April.  WASC will use the visit to determine our accreditation status.  We are preparing the Self Study that we need to turn in to our visiting committee before our visit.  As a part of the self-study, we are gathering information from students, staff, and parents/guardians.  Information from these main stakeholders in our school is important to the self-study process.  The title above in blue is a link to the survey.  Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and submit your answers.  The survey is anonymous.

Respiratory Virus Exposure Notice

It is cold and flu season and there are currently several respiratory viruses that are impacting the Nevada County community and our school.  I am attaching a bulletin from the Nevada County Department of Public Health that provides information that parents can use to determine when their child can safely return to school after a respiratory illness.  Please take some time to review the information in the bulletin.  Contact the school if you have any questions.  Also, please remember to call or contact the office by email ( cbr...@bitneyprep.net ) any time your student is absent from school.

As always, please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,
