Here are your updates for the coming week.
Environmental Science Field Trip to South Yuba River - Monday, March 17 - All Day
Alison Harper’s Environmental Science class will be taking their annual field trip to work with SYRCL and the Forest Service to conduct scientific water quality monitoring on the South Yuba River. This is an amazing learning opportunity for the Environmental Science students to do scientific fieldwork and learn about the health of this river, which is such a big part of the Nevada County environment. Students should make sure that they are at school on time and dress in warm, dry layers!
11th Grade CAASPP Testing - Tuesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 20 - Periods One and Two
Over the next two weeks, all of our 11th grade students will participate in the annual CAASPP State Testing in English and Mathematics. This week, these students will be taking the English Language Arts Assessments on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. These tests are one important measure of individual student learning during high school and of our school program in these subjects. 11th Grade parents, please encourage your students to rest up, come to school on time, and do their best on these assessments. We will have breakfast food available for the students on these days.
School in Session on Friday, March 21, 2025
March 17 was scheduled as one of our four Emergency School Closure make-up days. Because school was canceled on Friday, March 14, 2025, we will be in school on Friday, March 21st. This day will also be our make-up day for our 8th Grade Shadow Day, which was postponed because of the snow day. Please make sure that your students come to school next Friday.
End of Quarter 3 - Friday, March 21, 2025
We are coming to the end of Quarter 3 next Friday. This is an important time for parents to check in on how their students are performing in the classes during the Spring Semester. We will be mailing home progress reports the following week. Many of our teachers will be wrapping up units and significant assignments this week. Please encourage your students to get their work done and study for any upcoming assessments.
As always, please contact us at school if you have any questions.
