While the song suggestions are still fresh in our minds from the Grimdank Song Contest, it would be nice to share any and all songs that make you think of Tau. Tau lyrics, Tau sounds, Tau themes, whatever reminds you of the Tau and the glorious Tau'va, or the might of the Enclaves, or the smelly Auxiliaries.

The Pioneer Valley Trumpet Guild is a performance and outreach based organization. We aim to create a positive, musical relationship with the entire Pioneer Valley and believe that the best way to do that is through public exposure. Each semester, members of the Guild perform in a variety of settings from Veterans homes to our annual Holiday Caroling where small groups of musicians hold impromptu performances of seasonal songs in public venues. It is the core belief of the PVTG that it is our responsibility as ambassadors of art music to bring our craft into the public forum and form lasting relationships within the community.

The Tau Moe Family is one of the most versatile and dynamic Hawaiian musical groups whose love for the islands reached fans across the world. Tau was born in Samoa but was raised in the north shore of Oahu and Rose Kaohu was from the Big Island. Tau and Rose Moe met while taking a steel guitar lessons from M.K. Moke in Honolulu. They decided to join the "Royal Samoan Dancers" and traveled to perform at the 1929 Carnival Fair in Manila, where they were a huge success. In the next six months, Rose and Tau met up with a number of musicians and traveled extensively throughout Japan and China. In Japan they met Dan Pokipala and made their first recording with Columbia records in Tokyo. They made another recording for RCA Victor after returning from a performance in Shanghai. They continued to travel and entertain and when their two children were old enough, they became a part of the act as well. After five decades of non-stop entertaining on the road, Tau decided to retire and settle his family in Laie, a small community in the North Shore where he grew up. Rose passed away in 2000 and Tau passed away in 2004 at the age of 94.

He was a former accompanist for the American Ballet Theatre, but playing and singing pop songs outdoors had convinced him of the almost mystical power of music to soothe, delight and heal his fellow New Yorkers. He began to push the piano all over downtown, even managing to get it onto a subway platform at 14th Street.

Your SongElton John & Bernie Taupin/arr. Chinn - Alfred Music Publishing"I hope you don't mind...that I put down in words, how wonderful life is while you're in the world." Everyone knows and loves this classic pop song recorded by Elton John, and Teena has done a superb job arranging it for mixed or treble choirs. If you perform only one golden oldie in the pop segment of your program, make this the one! Highly recommended!Select a ProductPreview

As the population ages, Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common neurodegenerative disease in elderly people, will impose social and economic burdens to the world. Currently approved drugs for the treatment of AD including cholinesterase inhibitors (donepezil, rivastigmine, and galantamine) and an N-methyl-D-aspartic acid receptor antagonist (memantine) are symptomatic but poorly affect the progression of the disease. In recent decades, the concept of amyloid-β (Aβ) cascade and tau hyperphosphorylation leading to AD has dominated AD drug development. However, pharmacotherapies targeting Aβ and tau have limited success. It is generally believed that AD is caused by multiple pathological processes resulting from Aβ abnormality, tau phosphorylation, neuroinflammation, neurotransmitter dysregulation, and oxidative stress. In this review we updated the recent development of new therapeutics that regulate neurotransmitters, inflammation, lipid metabolism, autophagy, microbiota, circadian rhythm, and disease-modified genes for AD in preclinical research and clinical trials. It is to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and multiple-target intervention, which may provide a promising outcome for AD treatment.
