Hi all I am running the latest version of Bit Curator on Ubuntu 25.04.02 LTS and I am getting an error when attempting to export files from Bulk Extractor.

usage: br_processor [-h] [--quiet] [-d] [--ssn SSN] [--include_exif] [--include_network] [--be_reports BE_REPORTS] [--regex REGEX] [--stoplists STOPLISTS] [-n] [--export] [--pii] [--flat] [--restore_dates] [--unallocated] [--tar] source destination filename br_processor: error: unrecognized arguments: export

it appears that it is trying to have Bulk Reviewer 0.3.1 to export the options but it does not recognize the export command.  I am not sure what I can do to get about this but if anyone happens to have any suggestions I am all ears.

Hi Patrick,

Please provide a specific account of the steps you are taking. This should include the type and location of your data source, command(s) you issued to process that data source, and/or the actions you took using the Bulk Reviewer GUI.

Here is the data I am working with.  I wanted to test if I could flag the "bad" files and export them to check to see if the redaction is properly working.  So once loaded I marked the bad files as viewed and wanted to export them so that the values are redacted.  That is when I get the error from the original posting.  I was able to confirm that I can export the CSV file showing the items being flagged, so that part is working.  I wasn't sure if this was due to me running the latest version or if the most recent Ubuntu could be the cause of the issue.  Hope this helps let me know if you need anything else.

Hi Patrick,

I have replicated your process in BitCurator 5.0.0 in Ubuntu 24.04.2 (fresh install), using the unzipped contents of the file and marking the two bad files as seen. When marking the two "bad" files as "seen" and attempting to export, the export completes normally. *However*, if I try to export to a directory with a space in the path, I encounter the error. This indicates there is a bug in Bulk Reviewer's handling of file paths.

To be extra clear: trying to export to a directory "/home/bcadmin/BRExported" works fine, but trying to export to a directory "/home/bcadmin/BR Exported" does not. You can submit a bug report to the original author of this tool at https://github.com/bulk-reviewer/bulk-reviewer if you wish to try and get this fixed, or just use exports paths without spaces for now.

Just was able to test this and confirm that it is work, who would have thought a space would cause an issue?  Thanks for the help.
