Hi,
Bitcurator newbie here. IT partition the hard drive for my Windows computer to install
Ubuntu 22.04LTS so it's running as the host operating system on my machine. At startup, I have the option to start up Ubuntu or Windows.

Bitcurator is now installed and I noticed that there's a shared folder on the desktop. Does this allow me to move files from the Bitcurator environment to Windows? If so how do I go about getting that option to work for me? So far all my searches are explaining how to setup folder sharing between Bitcurator and my machine using virtual machine.

Hi again Doreen,

No, the Shared Folder on your desktop doesn't link directly to your Windows desktop. It's there to map any devices you connect to the system to the "/media" folder, which allows you to have quick access to them. This includes things like USB's and CD's which would be connected. You'd easily have quick access to them by using the Shared Folders and Media folder on the desktop.

Cheers
