This isn't a BitCurator question, apologies - but it is an ubuntu + kryoflux question, and I figured this was a good place to ask since there are people here that fit that bill....Is anyone else having trouble with kryoflux permissions?
OS: Ubuntu 20.04
BitCurator: on the interim 3.0.1 release
Issue:
I can't seem to control/access the USB-connected kryoflux device as a regular user who is a member of the floppy group (ditto for other users).
But, I can control it as sudo, using both the CLI program dtc or if I launch the kryoflux UI as sudo, e.g. sudo java -jar /opt/kryoflux_2.6_linux/dtc/kryoflux-ui.jar.
There is a udev rule for the kryoflux at /etc/udev/rules.d/80-kryoflux.rules and it reads ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="03eb", ATTR{idProduct}=="6124", GROUP="floppy", MODE="0660" and I understand this to mean any member of the floppy group can access USB devices with IDs starting with 03eb:, which the kryoflux does, it's connected as Bus 001 Device 013: ID 03eb:6124 Atmel Corp. at91sam SAMBA bootloader.
This is a recent issue for me (beginning within the last month).
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Things I'm overlooking?
