Hello! I'm sharing this timely research instrument below on behalf of our colleague Alexandra Chassanoff. Please consider contributing your insights.

Assessing Born-Digital Stewardship in Practice: An Online Survey
IRB# 25-0937
August 11, 2025

Dear Colleagues,

Do you work with born-digital materials at North American archives, libraries, museums, and heritage organizations? If so, I invite you to participate in "Assessing Born-Digital Stewardship in Practice", an online research survey of information professionals working in born-digital stewardship.* Sharing your experiences as a practitioner navigating born-digital stewardship in practice will contribute significantly to a field-wide understanding of current perspectives and ongoing challenges.**

The survey will be open for participation from August 11 - September 15th. The survey is expected to take 15-20 minutes to complete.  Recruited participants will receive a $50 stipend for their time and be invited to participate in follow up focus group sessions. Please click here to access the survey or copy the link directly into your browser.  https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3q4Fgp87TxrbSKi

Sincerely,

* For the purposes of this study, we define born-digital stewardship as the active caretaking and management of born-digital materials over time.

**This research study was part of Building Capacity and Resilience for Born-Digital Stewardship Communities of Practice (DigiStew), a three-year Early-Career Research Project run by UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Information and Library Sciences and with generous support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program. The grant was terminated in April 2025 but the work continues! You can read more about the project here and ongoing advocacy efforts to fund IMLS, NARA, and Library of Congress here
