I'm pleased to announce the release of bitcoinj 0.12.1, a maintenance
update to the Java implementation of the Bitcoin protocol.

The most important change is probably backporting the ability to
rotate entire HD chains, e.g. in case one of your private seeds
becomes unsecure. Please have a look at this new part in the
documentation:

https://bitcoinj.github.io/working-with-the-wallet#wallet-maintenance-and-key-rotation

There are some performance improvements, like more granular locking.
(But still, a lot more improvements to go...)

Also notable: the default fee when completing transactions was dropped
by a factor of 10, to 0.01 mBTC per 1000 bytes of transaction data.

Many small-ish bugs were fixed. For a thorough list of changes, have a
look at the git log [1].

Known issue: this release breaks the build of the wallettemplate
sub-project. If you need that, we suggest waiting for v0.12.2.

The v0.12.1 release tag is signed with my's GPG key [2]. The git hash
of the release is 9eab6977bdedad4fee8d84d447bdda93611162f4. The
pre-built jars can be fetched from Maven central [3]. Those artifacts
are signed with Mike Hearn's GPG key [4].
