macrovirus in Word 6.0.1?

I am using MS word 6.0.1 on a PB5300 running MacOS 8.0. This morning I
opened a word file sent me as an e-mail attachment. This binary file was
in Word 2 format, word said. After I have opened it nothing works
properly anymore.

The only file format support is word2 format. All menu were altered and
many options disappeared. In the Word extensions folder there is only one
file left, named "Windows Metafile". Nothing else left.

Is this a Macro Virus effect? How can I clean up the whole think, beside
re-installing Word?
