KVIE Electric SchoolHouse(TM) Opens Its Doors to Learning Online; A New
Educational Internet Service for Kids, Parents, and Teachers

PHILADELPHIA, July 8 -- KVIE Electric SchoolHouse(TM), the nation's
first Internet service designed specifically to connect parents, kids
and teachers, is now available to families residing in Central and
Northern California.

Created to appeal to the 20 million families expected to come online during
the next few years, KVIE Electric SchoolHouse(TM) combines easy and
affordable Internet access in a safe educationally focused environment.
This
first of its kind service offers adults unlimited Internet access while
providing specialized tools and resources that enable parents and teachers
to
set custom guidelines so that children can safely travel on the Internet,
based on the child's age, grade and maturity level. KVIE will offer this
new
service to more than a million households in Sacramento's Central Valley.
In
addition, KVIE Electric SchoolHouse(TM) links to top educational sites on
the
World Wide Web and has safe collaboration and communication tools including
its safe e-mail product, SafetyMail(TM), and supervised chat and bulletin
boards for children.

"It's a dream come true to make the resources of the Internet available to
children in a safer manner. Our goal is to electrify the educational system
by helping to make online learning technology-friendly, inherently safe and
available to every child," stated President and CEO Tom Shoemaker.

"About a third of those who watch Channel 6 are children. The ability to
help
kids be ready to succeed when they get to school is something that's been
at
the heart of KVIE's activities since before Big Bird and Mr. Rogers became
part of American culture. Presenting KVIE Electric SchoolHouse(TM) is just
one more way KVIE can help make that happen," said KVIE General Manager
David
Hosley.

"Best of the Web" Focus

KVIE Electric SchoolHouse(TM) educational features include:
Search2Learn(TM),
a digital library which categorizes thousands of websites considered to be
"best in class" for education, entertainment and "edutainment;" and
superior
reference resources and educational learning tools including access to
hundreds of dictionaries, encyclopedias, and grammar guides.

To ensure that only the highest quality content is incorporated, a
selection
committee of highly trained educational volunteers, including many retired
teachers, pre-screens and evaluates potential sites to be included in
Search2Learn. Known as The Circle of Learning(TM) certification system, the
process applies a world-class set of quality controls to ensure the content
of sites are top notch. KVIE Electric SchoolHouse designates sites that
meet
the criteria with the "Electric SchoolHouse Seal of Approval," the modern
family's Internet guide to quality information. To develop its service,
Electric SchoolHouse Inc. has collaborated with an experienced and
dedicated
team of educators and advisors from leading universities. In addition, the
company has forged special volunteer relationships with the National
Retired
Teachers Association division of the American Association of Retired
Persons
(AARP) in its effort to foster a community of life-long learners.

KVIE Channel 6 is consistently ranked among the top ten public television
stations in the country, serving an audience that spans 28 counties in
Northern and Central California, and reaching 2 million viewers each month.
KVIE is supported by more than 70,000 members and continues to build its
audience by airing the best programs television has to offer and reflecting
the community back to itself with local productions.

Additional information about the company is available on the Internet at
www.eschoolhouse.com. Electric SchoolHouse can be ordered by calling
1-800-569-5537 or online at www.eschoolhouse.com.

Collecting Insects - tips on how to make a insect collection

I collect insect since I was a little boy, collecting insects in general is
a very good hobby, it can, like it did for me, become a passion. If you are
interested in the beautifull adventure of collecting such treasures of the
nature, I will share my knowledge with you but I want to warn you not to
overkill, because in a specific area, it could affect the population.
Please
do not kill damage specimen, they are good for reproduction.

Native American Heritage - offers research sources for tracing tribal
Native American Heritage

Why you have chosen to reconnect with your American Indian ancestry is
immaterial. The reward is in the journey.

You are about to embark on a journey of courage and discovery. For the
thousands upon thousands of people in the United States who have Indian
blood, "Tracing Your Native American Heritage" is a step-by-step guide to
connecting with that American Indian ancestry.

Your genealogy search begins in your own backyard: face-to-face talks with
parents and grandparents as well as research in the family archives. Once
you know the name of your tribe, the real work begins.

To touch all branches of your tribal tree, you may choose to visit the
National Archives, or tap library resources or access specific web sites
(we
have several starter links). If certification and membership is your goal
you will want to contact your tribe directly. Each has its own tribal
membership requirement for degree or quantum of Indian blood
