I agree with you on the keyboard. I have upgraded through
2 new machines since my Northgate, and each time the keyboard
has moved with me.

FYI, Northgate was still alive here in the Twin Cities area
as of December 1995, even though then out of the mass pc market.
I spoke to someone out there and mentioned my love for the
Omnikey. At least then, they were still making them although
obviously not making any major effort to market them. If there
are others around here searching for the best keyboard ever made,
I'll be happy to phone around and see what Northgate might have
on offer.

My Northgate keyboard, with F-keys on the left where God intended them to
be, has been with me since 1988 and has been through many computer
upgrades. In fact, my keyboard came with the ctrl, shift, and alt keys
color coded so they would match the WP colors on the user template.

Northgate was a good company, and I hope that if this keyboard ever gives
out that I can find one just like it.

In addition to being the best keyboard around, Northgate still honors their
lengthy warranty on their keyboards (free repair or replacement). I recently
had my OmniKey Ultra keyboard repaired and it is still going strong after
years of hard usage.

For all those who like FKeys on the left AND the top -- not to mention a full
set of num and cursor keys --
OmniKey ultra-T: Computer Station [Maryland]
800 765-4507
$97+$8 s/h

At least they were available 1 year ago from this source -- if anyone calls,
could you confirm here that they are / are not still available?

BTW -- they clean up nicely in the dishwasher - just the slightest hint of
completely dissolved soap, tho, and take the main electronics board out before
you do this... your milage may vary!
