Running  VSE 4.1 with EMC² Dasd. Very often the VSE console flooding with 0P66I SUBSYS INF  messages.  Is there a way of suppression these SIM messages ?  I have FAQS running but the 0P66I message outputs 4 lines to the console.

Thanks in advance,

ben gentenaar

Ben,

A couple of years ago we had that problem too. IIRC, EMC altered a setting in the box (don't know which one, but I think they can set the level of severity) and that reduced the number of messages considerably. Now we only get these messages when there is a real problem with the devices in the EMC-box.

Bye,
Geert.

Hello,

We had EMC but moved to IBM DS6800.  The EMC Symetrix we had could be set to the level of message you want but EMC had to set the level not the user.

And EMC had an issue with sending erroneous heat messages, and they (EMC) turned that off totally.

Ben,

There is service available that will suppress these messages.  Check on Shop zSeries or IBMLink for the PTF numbers.
