AFAIK it should work.

I'd be inclined to do a trace and make sure that it's really doing exactly
what you think in batch. (Now what colour was that rose ?).

Greetings from Texas,

"DEFINE GDG (NAME("gdgbase") SCR NEMP LIM("lim.i"))" runs fine as a macro,
but I can't get it to work in batch mode -

DUPLICATE DATA SET NAME+
** VSAM CATALOG RETURN CODE IS 8 - REASON CODE IS IGG0CLEH-38
LASTCC=12

I have a list of about 70 base file names that I need to dynamically create
with a new last node. I can generate the new GDG indexes in an output file
and run IDCAMS as a separate step, but that's no fun...

Thanks,
Rick

Sounds like your TSO is set up with PROF NOPREFIX, but the batch job is
using a prefix. Try adding command PROF PREFIX in batch before invoking the
other stuff.

LASTCC=12

I have a list of about 70 base file names that I need to dynamically create
with a new last node. I can generate the new GDG indexes in an output file
and run IDCAMS as a separate step, but that's no fun...

Make that "Try adding command PROF NOPREFIX in batch before invoking the
other stuff."

The profile was the root cause of my frustration. I never looked for the
tsoid.tsoid.filename I had created...

Thanks!

Could this be PREFIX issue in batch?
