Hi,

I would RTFM but, unfortunately, the softcopy REXX manuals here are
unreadable.

Is it possible to concatenate a REXX library defined as VB-255 with other
REXX libraries defined as FB-80?

I have done just that but when I try to run an exec from the FB-80 library,
I get the following message:

"IRX0435E An invalid record was found during exec load. This is an internal
error."

Thanks,

Ken MacKenzie

I don't think it is rexx per se. There is a section of the 'Using
data sets' manual that basically says concatenated mismatched data
sets won't work unless the program is written do some very
non-standard things. So basically the answer is don't expect it to
work. You might be able to do stuff with altlib.

online tso books (including rexx) are at the s390 site in the
'Library' link.

apar ow32669 says this message can occur when a vb record of length <=0 is encountered.... which of course can happen when you edit a vb record and insert a blank line.... ispf edit will strip out the blanks at save time. Try removing all
blank lines in the exec...

in general try not to concatenate unlike datasets.... in times past it was an abend situation but things have gotten better slowly..
