Subject: Rename Dataset
Is there a way within Rexx code to rename a dataset or is there a better JCL
method?

In our rexx classes
TSO REXX Programming
http://www.trainersfriend.com/a250descrpt.htm
and
TSO REXX Programming in z/OS
http://www.trainersfriend.com/a750descrpt.htm
we actually have a lab where the student constructs an exec that prompts for
the existing name and the new name and uses RENAME or ALTER depending on the
organization. (Of course, ALTER will work for both, but the point of the lab
is the logic and command practice.).

The RENAME command is part of basic TSO and should be there.
(LIST, COPY, MERGE and FORMAT are the ones you might not have.)
