Calculate hours between 2 dates/time

Hi,

I am looking for some Rexx code that is able to calculate the hours
between to dates. The date is formatted 035/2214 where 035 = the day of
the year and 2214 is the time.

Wouldn't such a date format cause problems near the end of the year.
