Has anybody had any experience with dental implants?  My dentist has recommended one for me and I'm wondering if immunosuppression will have an effect on success.  Thanks.

Diane,

I'm half way into the process, having had a bone
graft where original tooth was pulled, then 4 months
later getting the implant put in (a couple weeks ago).
Now I wait another 4-5 months (for bone and gums to
heal) before getting the final crown. Oral surgeon
had no problems with my xplnt situation and healing,
etc has been great after both procedures.

I have had 9 implants since having a liver tx in 2000. No problems but your tx team will probably recommend taking 2000 mg amoxicillin 1 hour pre surgery. I just had a K tx 4 months ago and was told to wait until 6 months post to
have any dental work.
